Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl are back to protect their city and continue to fight crime, this time sans Nicolas Cage but, interestingly, with Jim Carrey. Matthew Vaughn, who made the first instalment the major success it was, has not returned to direct the new project but has handed over the reins to newcomer Jeff Wadlow.
Your first reaction to the trailer would be correct, Chloe G. Moretz has indeed grown up overnight. Her character Hit-Girl begins training Kick-Ass and soon finds that their form of crime-fighting has attracted quite a few fans, one of them Colonel Stars and Stripes who joins forces with the pair to take on Red Mist.
Unfortunately, the trailer doesn’t look too amazing. The first Kick-Ass was a breath of fresh air in the superhero genre, but this just seems to be a thrown together follow up to the brilliant first part.
Will the second film ever reach this high note?
