Anyone watching the Superbowl last night will confirm that the major excitement during a television broadcast that ran until the wee hours of this morning came during the adverts. (Honourable mention to the half-time show, Bruno Mars and Red Hot Chili Peppers did a very good job following up last year’s Beyonce bowl).
The most lucrative spots in television advertising plugged beers, cars and a revamped RadioShack, but one of the most thrilling plugs belonged to Marvel Studios, who took the occasion as a chance to let audiences see first full-length trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
The sequel to 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger picks up two years after the events of The Avengers. Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, (played by Chris Evans), joins forces with the Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) when a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent comes under attack.
Sebastian Stan will take centre stage as the new baddie, playing the titular Winter Soldier. Samuel L. Jackson returns as Nick Fury.
From the trailer below, it looks like Captain America is set to get a little more badass. We approve.
