Michelle and Steve have had a tough few months.
She added: “It is still a journey, but it is the start of Steve and Michelle loving each other again. She was always going to be there for him, but she’s just so shocked that he felt like he couldn’t talk to her.”
The 38-year-old, who recently got engaged herself, confirmed that there will be a happy ending for the onscreen pair in the form of a wedding.
She said: “I’m delighted, absolutely delighted… Simon and I love working together, and nobody likes to see us broken up.”
But while the crash brings Michelle and Steve back together, Sinead Tinker (played by Katie McGlynn) will be seriously injured in it.
