Nathan Carter will lead the tribute.

Laura Holland

This Friday’s Late Late Show will honour those who lost their lives during the Hillsborough disaster.

Country star Nathan Carter will pay tribute to the victims with a performance of a song specially written to honour the 96 people who lost their lives.

He will also join Ryan to chat about life on the road, his new album and help find the best amateur jivers in Ireland.

Also on the show will be Kevin Keegan, one of the many former Liverpool players who stood by the families of the Hillsborough victims as they fought for justice. The ex-England manager will be filling Ryan in on his long and colourful career, what he’s up to now and reflect back on the time he once appeared on The Late Late Show alongside an actual bear.

Fresh from her election victory, Senator Lynn Ruane will join Ryan this Friday. She’ll speak about her journey into politics, from dropping out of school and becoming a single mum in her teens to transforming her life and going back to college.

Meteorologist Joanna Donnelly will be on the show to try and explain why our weather is going crazy.

Finally, there will be a discussion about whether it’s time we armed all the Gardaí? A panel including crime correspondent Paul Williams, Clonmel solicitor Kieran Cleary and former assistant commissioner Martin Donnellan will debate the issue.

All that plus music from Lake Street Dive and JD & the Straight Shot.
