The ‘One Tree Hill’ cast are having a mini-reunion later this year

Isn't it time for a damn new series already?

It’s often seen as the “forgotten cousin” of early ’00s US teen dramas, playing second fiddle to the likes of the more widely popular The OC.

But One Tree Hill has many a devoted fan who followed the show obsessively throughout its whole run from 2003 – 2012.

Now there’s some good news for those dedicated fans: after weeks of rumours, EW has confirmed that some of the main cast will get together during the EyeCon convention in Chicago this November.

The convention will bring together Chad Michael Murray (Lucas), James Lafferty (Nathan), Jana Kramer (Alex), and Antwon Tanner (Antwon “Skills” Taylor) for panels, autograph signings, and musical performances from Kramer, who is now a country singer.

Hopefully more cast members will confirm in the meantime.

The OTH cast have made appearances at this convention before, most recently in March of this year.

James Lafferty and Bethany Joy Lenz shared this cute picture of their meet-up.

Lafferty also shared a snap with the actor Jackson Brundage, who played his son in the later seasons of the series.

And of course, no One Tree Hill event could be complete without the almighty Chad Michael Murray also in attendance.

Indeed, it’s lovely to see that the cast are still good mates after all this time. Last year, they went on a session at a bar in Montreal.

The show only ended after a long run in 2012, but is it too soon to talk about rebooting it for a reunion special? Maybe Netflix could make a couple of feature-length instalments in the same way it’s doing with Gilmore Girls?

In the meantime, let’s rock out to Gavin DeGraw’s epic theme tune for the series.

“I DON’T WANNA BE ANYTHING OTHER THAN WHAT I’VE BEEN TRYIN’ TO BE LATELY!”
