We’ve been so excited about A Series of Unfortunate Events ever since we heard that the brilliant Neil Patrick Harris would be starring as Count Olaf.
Whether you read the 13 children’s novels it was originally based on, or fell in love with the 2004 film starring Jim Carey, you’ll be excited for this.
Even if you’ve never seen or read anything about the series, prepare to be hooked.
A Series of Unfortunate Events recounts the tragic tale of the Baudelaire orphans, Violet, Klaus, and Sunny, whose parents perish in a fire. Their evil guardian Count Olaf will stop at nothing to get his hands on their inheritance. The siblings, therefore, have to outsmart Olaf at every turn, foiling his many devious plans and disguises, in order to discover clues to their parents’ mysterious death.
How amazing does NPH look in all of his quirky disguises?
The atmosphere and mood of the show look dark and true to the original but the humour seems to be a little updated.
The eight-episode series premieres January 13th, 2017 on Netflix.
