Stick a fork in it, it’s done…

American network NBC has called time on hit TV show Hannibal.

The show, which premiered to rave reviews in 2013, features Hugh Dancy as gifted criminal profiler Will Graham, who has a unique way of empathising with and understanding psychopaths.

While assisting the FBI in the pursuance of one serial killer, psychiatrist Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) is recruited to help him out and the pair form one of TV’s most memorable working partnerships.

Sadly for fans, the end of the road is in sight.

Creator Bryan Fuller said: “NBC has allowed us to craft a television series that no other broadcast network would have dared, and kept us on the air for three seasons despite Cancellation Bear Chow ratings and images that would have shredded the eyeballs of lesser Standards & Practices enforcers.”

“[NBC president] Jen Salke and her team have been fantastic partners and creatively supportive beyond measure.

Hannibal is finishing his last course at NBC’s table this summer, but a hungry cannibal can always dine again. And personally, I look forward to my next meal with NBC.”
