Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley has spoken out about her character’s upcoming departure.
The actress, who plays Eva Price on the soap, has revealed that her onscreen love interest Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas) will be upset by her decision to leave.
She told the Radio Times: “Jason will be like a bear with a sore head without Eva. They’re so right for each other.
“I got upset reading the script because, as a viewer, I think they’re one of the few Corrie couples that stand a chance of a happy ending. Things could get very nasty if Jason finds out what Todd has done.”
In the coming episodes, Todd (Bruno Langley) will continue to manipulate the situation leading to an altercation between Jason and his dad Tony (Terence Maynard).
Jason believes , because of Todd’s meddling, that his father and girlfriend are having an affair but little does he know his reaction could end up ruining his relationship.
Catherine explained: “Eva is utterly shocked and disgusted with Jason’s behaviour. She wants to spend the rest of her life with Jason. The way he reacts and the fact he didn’t trust her has broken her heart.
“He loves Eva just as much as she loves him and he knows he’s messed up on a huge scale. He’s scared he’ll lose her now.”

Is this the end for the couple?
Following the bust-up with Tony, Jason tries to win Eva back with tickets to New York but she turns his offer down, instead leaving for France to stay with her grandmother.
But the feisty character won’t be away for long as Catherine is planning to return to the street after her maternity leave.
Speaking about her comeback, she admitted: “I can’t wait to see her storm back onto those cobbles. I’m really hoping for some more fab storylines when I return. I’m sure I’ll be ready for it!”
