The young Irish actress has been added to the cast of How To Catch a Monster, a fantasy-drama penned by Gosling. The project will also mark the directorial debut for the Hollywood heartthrob.

Details of Ronan’s character in the film have not yet been released, but we do know the film revolves around single mother of two, played by Hendricks, who is swept away into a fantasy world when her teenage son finds a pathway to an underwater town.

Gosling and crew will be beginning filming in Detroit and May and considering the actor’s calibre of work up to this stage, the project will be quite the talking point.

Ronan has just completed work on the eagerly anticipated The Host based on the Stephenie Meyer novel, and will shortly be seen on screens in Neil Jordan’s Byzantium alongside Gemma Arterton and Sam Riley.

Currently filming the Wes Anderson film The Grand Budapest Hotel, Ronan took a break last weekend to attend both the IFTA and BAFTA ceremonies.
