Remember the Baby from The Snapper? Here’s What She Looks Like Now

She was a good size for a baby. Small for a turkey.

As one of Ireland’s most beloved movies, of course The Snapper would make it to our screens over the festive period.

The film adaptation of Roddy Doyle’s priceless novel was actually aired again on Sunday night, when an unlikely star was made of a 22-year-old Irish woman via Twitter.

As the adventures of the Curley family played out again on TV3, Aisling Conlon from Howth in Co. Dublin took to the social networking site to share a unique claim to fame – she played the baby Georgina, who made her long-awaited appearance at the end of the film.

Conlon tweeted: “Made my cinematic debut as baby Georgina in #theSnapper at 3 days old! All went downhill from there…”

Fans of the film, many of whom were tweeting while watching, were quick to react to the news.

Speaking to The Irish Mirror, Aisling explained that she was chosen for the role at three days old, when a casting agent approached her parents in Holles Street maternity hospital back in 1992. She said:

“There wasn’t much acting involved to be honest as I was only three days old but my mom told me that I was picked because I had the cutest dimples on the ward.”

“Most people love their baby snaps but my favourite one is a publicity shot from The Snapper.”
