Fans of The Lord of the Rings will be quite excited to hear that they could be the owners of original props from the movie set.

The new auction will see items from the Peter Jackson trilogy being put up for sale in Beverly Hills on December 5th.

But what’s up for grabs from Middle Earth you say?  Frodo’s famous sword “Sting”, will be there and is estimated to fetch between £62,000 – £124,000.

Samwise Gamgee’s prosthetic Hobbit feet are said to fetch between £9,000 and £18,000, whereas Gandalf the White’s staff could sell for as much as £43,000.

“It has been more than a decade since the first of the trilogy films was released and in that time only a handful of items from these films have ever been publicly offered for sale” said Martin Nolan, executive director of the auction house.

“Demand for this memorabilia is extraordinarily high and the scale and quality of this remarkable collection is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity for fans and collectors.”

The auction, which features a sale of 80 lots is said to fetch up to £900,000 in total.

Here are some more items that are featured in the private collection:

1) Elendil’s helmet

2) Gimli’s Axe

3) Boromir’s sword and scabbard

4) Faramir’s helmet

5) Sauron’s helmet

6) Witch King’s Helmet

7) Ringwraith costume

J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings fantasy novels were released in three volumes between 1954 and 1955.
