Emma Watson, like most of the Harry Potter cast, paid tribute to Alan Rickman yesterday.
Watson took to Twitter to share an image and quote from Rickman.

Given Watson’s position as a feminist campaigner, many Twitter users criticised her choice of image, claiming that the actress was pushing a feminist agenda.
.@EmWatson oh wow, you’re using someone’s death to push a completely unrelated agenda. this is so, so gross.

@EmWatson You knew him…i’m guessing he was your friend. You’re using his memory for propaganda, please, think about it again…

I met Alan at a feminist Slut Walk in Covent Garden in 1998. He said; “If women want to be sluts, that’s OK by me.” Inspiring. @EmWatson

@Dekashoko @EmWatson She really has no sense of shame

What users ignored was the fact that image was shared amongst many quotes and phrases uttered by the late actor. We can’t blame Watson for sharing and reflecting on a saying that obviously resonated with her values.
