Emmerdale‘s recent storyline has angered people.
This week saw Charity Dingle and Ross Barton planning to steal a dog to make money, with Ross even calling it “operation Snatch Wolfie”.
It has led to numerous viewers complaining about the topic branding it “disgraceful”. Others are concerned that it will encourage people to copy the robbery in real life, with one person saying, “Why would @emmerdale promote dog stealing for money? Are you for real? Seriously?”
One dog charity in the UK has filed a complaint about the show saying on Twitter, “Complaint emailed to #emmerdale expressing concerns about the latest storyline on #dogtheft #irresponsible very disappointed.”
In the episode, Ross made comments about certain breeds calling them “rat-faced pedigree things” which has angered people even more.
Viewers took to Twitter last night and the night before to complain:
Still fuming @emmerdale someone needs a ? for making dog napping look so inviting. Some f##ker will try copying now. Well done NOT!? #angry

Beyond angry that #emmerdale would paint a #rottweiler in such a bad light! As if certain dogs aren’t already stereotyped in a negative way!

@GolfBallLogos @emmerdale I agree, lots of breeds are currently being stolen, I think this was a totally irresponsible storyline.
