We’re getting drip fed with information about the Spider-Man: Homecoming movie.
We know that Tom Holland will play the lead role, Robert Downey Junior could be making a cameo as Iron Man and it will be released on July 7th, 2017. But now a new cast member has been announced and it’s not going down too well with people.
According to ComicBook.com, Michael Barbieri has joined the cast as one of the Peter Parker’s classmates. It’s not yet known for sure who he will play but he’s been linked to the role of Ganke.
Marvel Comic fans will know that Ganke is a Korean-American kid who is best friends with Miles Morales, a boy who has similar abilities to Spiderman.
Michael Barbieri is definitely not Korean-American and so people are confused over the casting choice.
Rumor is that he’s playing Ganke. He better not, because once again…THATS AN ASIAN CHARACTER. https://t.co/wQSocWRIme

There’s a rumor that he’s playing a version of Ganke Lee with a different name, and I pray that isn’t true.https://t.co/JOtAaFmHEX
