Eastenders fans were stunned to see Peggy Mitchell return to the soap tonight in a storyline which has been kept under wraps until now.
Her son Phil turned up on her doorstep and demanded to know where his daughter Louise is staying.
Peggy tried to reason with him but there was no talking to her son, who is struggling with an alcohol addiction.
Then Peggy, one of Walford’s most-loved characters told Phil that ‘the cancer is back’ and she’s dying.
As you can imagine, Twitter has been hopping with reactions to Peggy’s return.
