Netflix share the first look at the gritty new crime series The Stranger

Keeley Ryan

Netflix have shared the first look at their gritty new crime thriller, The Stranger.

Between American Crime Story, The Ted Bundy Tapes, You, and Dirty John, it’s pretty safe to say that there’s no shortage of crime and thriller series’ on the streaming service.

But The Stranger, based on the book of the same name by Harlan Coben, may just be the most addictive one yet.

The series’ main character, Adam Price, seems to have it all.

A comfortable marriage to a beautiful woman, two wonderful sons, and all the trappings of the American Dream: a big house, a good job, a seemingly perfect life.

Then he runs into the Stranger, who tells him a devastating secret about his wife, Corrine. And when he confronts her, the mirage of perfection disappears as if it never existed at all.

Soon Adam finds himself tangled in something far darker than even Corrine’s deception, and realizes that if he doesn’t make exactly the right moves, the conspiracy he’s stumbled into will not only ruin lives – it will end them…

The Hobbit‘s Richard Armitage has been cast as Adam Price, while Dervla Kirwan will play Corrine Price. Happy Valley‘s Siobhan Finneran, Game of Thrones’ Paul Kaye and Broadchurch’s Shaun Dooley will also star in the series.

And as if we couldn’t be excited enough for the series, the streaming service have now shared the first look at what we can expect – and confirmed a sort-of release date.

Announcing that The Stranger would be coming to Netflix, they promised it would be every bit just as mind-blowing as Corben’s previous series, Safe.

However, if you’re looking for more information about what’s going to be arriving on Netflix in the coming weeks, you can find the list of November additions here.
