Netflix users have been left ‘sobbing’ over the streaming service’s new drama Virgin River.
The first season of the romantic drama, based on the Virgin Rivers novels by Robyn Carr, premiered earlier this month.
Virgin River follows Melinda “Mel” Monroe, who answers an ad to work as a nurse practitioner in the remote California town of Virgin River thinking it will be the perfect place to start fresh and leave her painful memories behind.
But she soon discovers that small-town living isn’t quite as simple as she expected and that she must learn to heal herself before she can truly make Virgin River her home.
Ever since the first season of Virgin River landed on Netflix at the start of December, fans have been taking to social media to share their love for the series.
Oh, and calling for new episodes, of course.
In good news for fans of the series, Virgin River has already been renewed for season two – so there are definitely more episodes on the way.
I thought #VirginRiver was gonna be another Hallmark-y movie type series. But y’all, that scene with the two women talking about depression and reaching out for help is beautifully and poignantly written and acted. This is for real.
