Mrs Doubtfire The Musical Is in the Works

Best. News. Ever.

Rebecca McKnight

Mrs Doubtfire starring the late, great Robin Williams is one of our favourite films of all time. (In fact we do a PRETTY good impression of her.)

So you can imagine how happy we are to hear that Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken is working on a stage version of the hit film.

He told Entertainment Weekly Radio: “It’s in its early stages, and that’s probably all I can say… We’re really enjoying working on it.”

As well as Menken, who composed the music for numerous Disney films including Beauty and the Beast, Harvey Fierstein (who played Robin’s onscreen brother in the flick) is writing the book.

On the off chance that you haven’t seen the movie* itself, it’s about a man who transforms himself into an elderly nanny in order to spend time with his children following the breakdown of his marriage.

*If you haven’t seen it, you NEED to. It’s amazing.
