The McConaughaissance continues. Matthew McConaughey, a staple ingredient of pretty much any rom-com that has ever existed, has been having a massive career resurgence of late. Beginning with the Lincoln Lawyer and moving through the creepy Killer Joe to The Paperboy, McConaughey has somehow managed to put himself back on the serious acting map.
Now, the biggest departure from the rom-com has happened with the actor confirming he will take the lead role in the new Christopher Nolan project, Interstellar. Nolan has always talked about making a move away from the Batman series, and this project seems to be the confirmation.

The actor will play Cooper in the sci-fi film exploring theories of gravity fields and wormholes put forward by physicist Kip Thorne that Albert Einstein was never able to prove. The plot will focus on a group of space explorers who will travel through a wormhole to examine scientific theories. The script has been written by Nolan’s brother, Jonathan.
All we’re saying is, two years ago we might not have believed this would ever happen.
