We always assumed that due to the popularity of the first instalment, we would definitely see a sequel to the brilliant Magic Mike and so we collectively breathed a sigh of relief when it was confirmed there would be a follow-up to the 2012 production.
Up to this point, we just had confirmation that there would be a sequel with Channing Tatum involved, in fact he is writing the script with Reid Carolin.
Now we know that the sequel will be titled Magic Mike XXL and that Greg Jacobs will take over directorial duties from Steven Soderbergh.
According to the Huffington Post, Joe Manganiello also told Collider on Friday that the movie would start shooting this October, although there has been no official confirmation from Warner Brothers just yet.
Basically, it’s happening. It will be here soon. We just need to set up a calendar to count down the days now.
