Awkward.
The Love Island 2018 finale took place last night, with Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer being crowned the winners.
But before the results were officially announced, the final four couples spent one last night in the villa for the Love Island 2018 Summer Ball.
There was fine dining. There were some questionable dance moves. There were some lovely speeches they made to each other (ok, well most of them were lovely – some were a bit cheesy).
Eagle-eyed viewers soon noticed that something was a bit off about the speeches, which the Islanders had been seen hand-writing earlier in the episode.
During Dani’s speech to Jack, many clocked the fact that her notes were typed – and accused producers of taking control over what was actually going to be said.
Others began wondering if the Islanders had written their declarations of love at all.

So, has anyone else clocked that their 'love notes' are typed up? Producers, you could have at least let them make and read their own notes. 🤦🏼♂️ #loveisland

HANG ON A MINUTE… Why are their speeches typed up? Can they not read their own handwriting? Did it need approval from the production team? #ghostwriters #loveisland

Hang on a minute, I swear earlier we saw the finalists writing out they’re speeches on paper with pen yet when the camera films Dani’s speech on the paper it’s typed 🤔scripted? #loveisland

Hmmm… typed up love letters… who actually wrote them… 🤔🤔 #LoveIsland #busyproductionteam #fake

Either dani has the best handwriting in the world or the “writing” on her paper is typed up 🙃👀 #loveisland

It all sounds like a bit of a stretch to us.
The notes were more than likely transcribed/typed up to help any nervous Islanders avoid stumbling over their words during the speeches – or, at least, that’s what we’re hoping.
Laura and Paul were declared the runner ups, while Kaz and Josh came in third.
Megan and Wes were the fourth place couple.
