Love Island fans are going to be furious with Dr. Alex after tonight’s episode

Keeley Ryan

Seriously?!

The final Love Island dates begin tonight – but the afternoon leaves one of the Islanders wanting to hit the brakes on their relationship.

Dr. Alex and Alexandra are sent a text alerting them to their final date tonight – and with ‘#speedygonzalex’ at the end, both assume it has something to do with cars.

They arrive at the date to find a red Ferrari and, as Dr. Alex jumps into the driving seat, he talks about how the day couldn’t get too much better.

He gushes:

“This is absolutely mental isn’t it? I’m in a beautiful car with an even more beautiful girl. This is perfect.”

Later on in the date, Alexandra is looking for a bit of direction as to how Alex feels about her.

She asks if her arrival in the villa happened at the right time, to which her partner replies:

“I think you came in at the perfect time, definitely.”

Focusing on a possible future for the pair of them, Alexandra talks about next steps – and her concerns over Alex’s distance and lack of affection.

She says:

“I’m really looking forward to meeting your friends, your family, and just kind of seeing how our lives will merge together.

“I think that’s really exciting. I definitely feel like we just need to go outside and have some fun and just be ourselves.

“I’m so excited to get on the outside with you.

“Sometimes in here I’ve felt a bit hesitant because I know that you’re cautious about not moving too fast and things like that, and I am quite an affectionate person.

“There’s a little bit of worry inside that when we come out, are you going to be able to give a little bit more?”

He tells her that he “hopes so” before offering up his own take on their relationship.

He explains:

I just want to see where things go and where the journey takes us really. I don’t want to rush at all.

“It’s not always easy. I think other couples are trying to rush. I think we’re moving at what’s comfortable for us. I’m happy with that. I think slow and steady wins the race sometimes.”

Back in the villa, the other Islanders are talking about Alex and Alex’s relationship – with Jack remarking how different the pair are.

Laura expresses her own concerns about the two of them:

“You have to want to make that effort for someone, you have to want to touch them, you have to want to not let them go.

“Time will tell but they are very different. Alexandra does seem to think he’s hilarious which is lovely.

“When I go back to when she first came in, how excited he was then, and how affectionate he was straightaway, was just so lovely for us to see.

“I don’t know if it’s still like that, or has it just died down a bit, or are we just used to seeing him and her together now?”

And it looks like the Islanders’ worries may be proven correct when the couple return to the villa.

Alexandra pulls some of the girls aside for a debrief, talking about it was “the most amazing date” and how it gave her a glimpse of what things would be like between them on the outside.

Dr. Alex, though, doesn’t appear to feel the same kind of way as he tells Jack that it “doesn’t feel right” with Alexandra.

He continues:

I don’t have the right feelings that I should be. The thing is she wants to move at quite a quick pace. She wants lots of affection, and she wants things to move quite quickly.

“I just can’t match that. I feel like things just aren’t quite right with us.”

Jack tells him that he’s surprised by the revelation, before admitting he thought Dr. Alex was “warming up to her”.

The doctor further explains:

“It’s so hard to explain but I just don’t have the feelings that I feel I should have.

“On the outside I do like to take things slower. I wouldn’t want to rush in too quickly.”

Jack tries to point out that Alex said he would give things a second chance with Alexandra – and that he could probably give it “just a little bit more of a second chance”.

He adds:

“She hasn’t said to you ‘Alex, do you want to be my boyfriend?’”

And it looks like Jack is the go-to man in the villa for the night, as Alexandra also turns to him for some advice.

She explains:

“I’m really affectionate. I know he’s compromised so much from how he was in the beginning to how he is now, I know that’s such a huge difference.

“I don’t want to ask anymore of him because I know he’s come such a long way. But at the same time, I can’t help how I feel.

“We’ve had nights where we’ve been really kissy and cuddly and then we’ve had some nights where we don’t even say ‘good night’.

“I don’t know if it’s because he’s holding back. Maybe he doesn’t feel as strongly about me, maybe he’s unsure, maybe he doesn’t want to move too fast.

“I don’t want to put pressure on him because I know he is the way he is and I don’t want to scare him away.”

With just a few more days to go until the finale, can Jack convince Dr. Alex to give things another chance?
