Looks like Emmerdale’s Debbie Dingle is about to find out the truth about Joe Tate

This is going to be heartbreaking.

This is going to be heartbreaking.

Emmerdale’s Debbie Dingle was stunned tonight when she received a text message from Joe Tate, her ex-fiancé who jilted her at the altar.

Since she hadn’t heard from him since their would-be wedding day, the text message – which simply read: “I’m sorry” – understandably left her reeling.

Sadly, while Debbie simply thinks that Joe is MIA, fans of the soap know that he was killed after he hit his head when Debbie’s dad, Cain, punched him.

Graham Foster seemingly finished him off after driving Joe’s body to the viaduct.

Unfortunately, the text message doesn’t mean that Joe’s alive: it was instead sent by Graham, who had overheard Debbie and Charity talking about Joe while in the pub.

Viewers immediately sussed out that it was Graham who had sent the message, but were fuming about the fact that he would mess with Debbie’s head like that.

Graham was revealed as the culprit when he was shown with the phone in his office, before Priya interrupted him and he put the phone in a drawer.

Meanwhile, Debbie was even more devastated after she got the text message – but Charity was on hand with plenty of ideas as to how to get over Joe.

She urged her daughter to burn her wedding dress, as well as deleting a blocking Joe’s number. However, Debbie decided to give Joe just one last call before blocking him for good.

However, when the phone rang in Graham’s office, Priya answered – thinking it was his phone.

And now that Debbie knows it was Graham who sent the message, we’d imagine it won’t be too long until she starts to want answers about Joe’s disappearance…
