The Late Late Show will interview the husband of tragic coast guard Caitríona Lucas

This is going to be heartbreaking.

Ryan Tubridy will interview Bernard Lucas, the husband of coast guard volunteer Caitríona Lucas who tragically died during a rescue mission in September last year.

The mum-of-two was the first member of the Irish Coast Guard to lose their life during a rescue mission. Her family will be in studio to talk to host Ryan Tubridy about the devastating impact of her death and to pay tribute to her.

Also on the show will be fashion designer and TV presenter Brendan Courtney. He will chat to Ryan about his family’s toughest decision whether or not to put their father Frank in long-term care.

After Frank suffered a stroke and was no longer able to care for himself, the family needed to decide whether or not to continue caring for him at home or letting him go into long term care. Brendan will be sharing his family’s story and shining a light on how few options there are for families facing a similar situation.

As we previously told you, Amanda Brunker will be getting botox live in studio and there will be a demonstration of the increasingly popular lip filler procedure as well.

Ryan will be catching up with D’Unbelievables comedian Jon Kenny and Glenroe actress Mary McEvoy as they prepare to take to the Gaiety stage with John B Keane’s The Successful TD.

Music on the night will be from Eddi Reader, Jack Lukeman and Lisa Canny.
