All we know about the How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days sequel

Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey may reprise their iconic roles

How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days will forever be one of the best rom-coms of all time. It has everything you need in a rom-com – set in New York, leads with infectious chemistry, a flawless soundtrack, and a charming script – and now it looks like a sequel could happen.

Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey have both agreed to reprise their roles if the script was right.

Kate Hudson recently told E! that a sequel “would just have to be totally right” for her to return as Andie Anderson.

Sharing an update on where Andie is today, the actress admitted, “Too wild by nature. Definitely she still has great outfits, number one. She still loves dresses and Isadora diamonds.”

In a previous interview with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live, the Almost Famous star said there is a chance for a second installment.

She said: “I think they’re always thinking about [a sequel]. All that matters would be the script and if Matthew and I would be into the script.”

Hudson said they’ve both agreed they were always open to returning as Andie Anderson and Benjamin Barry.

“I think we’re both totally open, but it just never happened,” she explained.

Paramount did approve plans for a How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days remake in 2019, but it sadly never worked out.

McConaughey spoke out about the sequel a year later and stressed that the film is ‘teed up’ for a sequel.

He told E!’s Daily Pop: “I mean, ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’ is teed up, you know, teed up for one that you could easily do a sequel. And that was a really good one. As far as romantic comedies go, that was a really good one.”

Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey’s chemistry belongs on the big screen so let’s hope someone in Hollywood can pen a script that gets their seal of approval.
