The latest series came to an end on Saturday night and today it has been claimed that Splash! might be coming to an end for good.
According to reports, ITV are thinking of axing the show after ratings for the final of series two dropped significantly from the first.
Only 4.4 million tuned in to see Diversity dancer Perri Kiely crowned as this year’s winner at the weekend, compared to 6.5 million last year.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: “Splash! has been great fun and really captured the mood after the 2012 Olympics but ITV aren’t sure it will stand the test of time.”
No decision has been made as of yet but show bosses are said to be considering new ideas for both the slot and swimmer Tom Daley who is the face of the programme.
