Coronation Street star Jimi Mistry has revealed that he didn’t know he was going to be killed off.
The actor’s onscreen alter ego Kal Nazir died in an explosion in Thursday night’s episode of the soap.

Speaking about his exit, he told Mail Online: “I didn’t know at the beginning, it wasn’t something I discussed.
“But I came into the show to bring some drama and when the idea was pitched to me I thought it was fantastic, dramatic and part of Coronation Street history.”
This week’s Coronation Street has been explosive.
The 42-year-old added: “I have always done a lot of things in my career and always move on, I’ve had a fantastic time and to be a part of scenes like that was a great end to the character.
“It was like being in an action movie and quite a way to die. I did share a tear watching it back.”
