There was a HUGE outpouring of support for this I’m A Celeb contestant last night

Orlaith Condon

It all got too much for one contestant.

This year’s lineup of celebrities made their journey into the jungle last night and after some tough challenges, one campmate became overwhelmed when they finally made it to camp.

Going head-to-head to determine which camp the teams would go to for their first few nights in the jungle, the red team came out on top, heading to the more luxurious Croc Creek.

However, that left the yellow team making their way to Snake Rock, a much more basic camp that left the members of the team in total shock.

Anne Hegerty broke down when her team made it to their home for the next few days last night, and told campmates she was already considering going home.

“I’m really close to saying I can’t do this,” she told her team.

Anne was quickly comforted by teammates Emily Atack and Fleur East.

“It’s overwhelming,” Inbetweeners star Emily said.

“I feel like we all have to be there for her,” Fleur added.

“The minute that we all rallied around her, she just felt so much better.”

But it wasn’t just her teammates Anne was receiving support from – viewers at home were quick to take to Twitter to share the love with The Chase star.

Anne was diagnosed with Asperger syndrome in 2007 after she watched a TV show and recognised the symptoms.

She’s spoken openly about it in interviews over the years, saying it helped lead to her job on The Chase.

“When you’re on the autistic spectrum, one of the things you do, it’s what’s called perseverating,” she said on Loose Women.

“You get interested in something and you just get really interested, you just have to know everything about it.

“You go completely down the rabbit hole, you can’t think about anything else, you have to learn everything there is to know about this particular subject. “
