It’s been 51 years since the original film.
Disney have revealed this week that one of our all-time favourite movies is about to get a live-action sequel.
It was announced that a follow-up to classic Mary Poppins is now in the works with Rob Marshall, Chicago director, working alongside Disney for the new version.

Dick Van Dyke, Karin Dotrice, Matthew Garber, Julie Andrews
The original movie, which starred Julie Andrew and Dick Van Dyke, was released in 1964.
According to Vanity, the new instalment will take place 20 years after the original movie, and will create a brand new adventure for the popular nanny.
There was a mixed reaction on Twitter to the news.
Dear @Disney: No. Stop it. #MaryPoppins

It should not even be legal to make a new MARY POPPINS film. If there is an after life, Ed Wynn is not laughing. — Paula Poundstone (@paulapoundstone) September 14, 2015
