Hard to refute this, tbh.
It’s Christmas Eve, babe.
And while we’re sitting down and enjoying a few movies, we’re happy to provide with a comprehensive list of the ultimate Christmas flicks.
For your viewing pleasure, don’t you know.
Up top is Home Alone, which makes a lot of sense – because it’s class – but what about the other Christmas movies of yore?
And how in God’s name are we even going to figure out what makes a Christmas movie ultimate?
Well, the lads over at Music Magpie have basically gone and done it for us.

Using a foolproof method that involves considering many festive based elements that may or may not be in each movie, they’ve done the hard work and figured out just what is needed to make a Christmas movie the ultimate Christmas movie.
The elements include the number of Christmas references, shots of presents or Christmas food, the movie’s financial performance, Twitter mentions, Google searches and a load of elements that we won’t list – because there are simply too many.
What we will provide you with, however, are the list of ultimate Christmas movies.
And tbh, they seem fairly bang on.
1. Home Alone
2. Elf
3. Love, Actually
4. The Grinch
5. The Santa Clause
6. The Nightmare Before Christmas
7. Arthur Christmas
8. Gremlins
9. The Polar Express
10.National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
And apart from the last one, yeah, we’d be inclined to agree.
So, go on then, grab a Bailey hot chocolate, kick back, relax, and throw on some sweet Home Alone action.
You deserve it.
You can check out the rest of the list, and the Christmassy elements they considered, here.
