“One by one they started falling down to their deaths.”

An HBO executive has warned that Game of Thrones’ final six episodes will feature a lot of character deaths.

While killing off the people of Westeros isn’t exactly anything new, it sounds like the fantasy series is really going big with their last few episodes.

HBO’s senior vice president of drama Francesa Orsi recently recalled her experience of being at the table read of the final six episodes – including the finale, where some actors found out about their characters’ ends without any warnings.

Talk about grim.

According to Varietyshe said at the  Best of HBO panel at the INTV Conference in Israel:

“[The table read] was a really powerful moment in our lives and our careers.

“None of the cast had received the scripts prior, and one by one they started falling down to their deaths.”

She added that being at the table read of the last six scripts was a “dream opportunity’ – and everyone stood up to applaud  at the end

Of the episodes, she said:

“It was amazing.

“By the very end, everyone looked down and looked up and tears were in their eyes.”

Game of Thrones is due to begin its final run of six episodes in 2019.

Following that, Orsi said that the network are hoping they are able to continue the wold of Westeros (and possibly beyond) with the potential spinoffs.

Adding that HBO are “going big” with their plans for the series ‘, she said they are keen to make sure the spin-offs live up to the original.

She said:

“It feels like corporate malfeasance to not continue it.

“That’s why it spawned three, four, five spinoffs.”
