Georgia May Foote has revealed that she is sad but excited to be leaving Coronation Street.
The actress, who plays Katy Armstrong in the soap, spoke about her upcoming departure on Wednesday’s episode of This Morning.
She explained: “I’m excited but I’m a little sad too because I’m going to miss so many people.
“But I am ready to leave as I’ve been on the show for nearly five years. It’s a very exciting time for me.”

It was recently revealed that Georgia’s character Katy decides to leave the cobbles with her estranged mother Linda (Jacqueline Leonard).
The pair patch things up after it emerges that Linda did not simply abandon her daughters but was struggling to cope with an illness.
Her attempts to keep in touch were then blocked by Owen (Ian Puleston-Davies), a fact he has kept hidden for years.
