This is no fairytale… Hansel and Gretel are all grown up in this new action-packed horror/fantasy movie Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters.
Hansel is played by the Oscar nominated Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker and The Bourne Legacy), while Gretel is played by Gemma Arterton (Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and Quantum of Solace).
The story follows the siblings, grown up and looking for witches blood and revenge after their near murder as children at the hands of an evil witch. However, the witches are on to them, and are planning to stop them killing off their coven once and for all.
The film was shot in Germany and was delayed for ten months so that Renner could complete his work on The Avengers and The Bourne Legacy. The director is Tommy Wirkola, a Norwegian filmmaker who got the idea to make a movie with the fairytale siblings as adults when he was in film school. Famke Janssen (Nip Tuck, X-Men) plays Muriel the witch.
Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters will be released February 27 nationwide.
