When Daniel Craig was announced as the new Bond, the decision was met with a great deal of criticism. A blonde Bond? Too short? However, opinion has decidedly altered on Craig as Bond. Here’s why he’s the best 007.
1. He feels like a real person
Despite the fact that Craig’s Bond traps scorpions in pint glasses at remote beach resorts, we reckon he would just as likely be trapping spiders in our local. Craig seems about the most approachable of the Bonds, and it helps that yes, if he destroyed a city in a tank, he is going to have some sort of bruise or cut somewhere. Or even a dirty shirt! 2. A better actor
Roger Moore, Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan, although the most popular Bonds from the franchise, had a very tongue in cheek approach to the character of the secret agent. Sure Bond is more serious with Craig, but this is due to the fact that Daniel is a much better actor who brings a depth to the character that doesn’t really exist with the other Bonds.
3. A more believable amount of women
Bond is, was, and always will be a player and we have no doubt that women would be lining up to spend quality time with Mr. Bond but Craig seems like the first 007 that is not really abusing his position. Casino Royale basically focussed on Eva Green’s character and most of Quantum of Solace revolves around his heartbreak after the relationship. Plus, he certainly seems more absorbed in his work…
4. We will watch 700 more films with Craig in them
Roger Moore famously commented that Craig had guaranteed Bond another 50 years. Form an orderly queue, we are ready for instalments until the end of time.
5. He looks like he could kill you if he wanted to…
We don’t know about you, but we reckon we could take Roger Moore in a fight, maybe not Connery but there is no way we would be taking on Daniel Craig in the near future. He is BUILT… Photo evidence? Oh, ok then.
6. The best looking Bond
This could be because he is the current Bond and really, Sean and Roger are just a bit too old for us now. Or it might be that Daniel has a chiselled chin, those muscles, those eyes and the fact that he is just the best looking Bond.
