Digital Spy has exclusively confirmed that Ben Mitchell will be returning to Walford and our small screens later this year.
Show bosses are said to be recasting for the role and are apparently planning to take Phil’s son in a new direction.
Ben was last seen onscreen back in August 2012, after he handed himself into the police and confessed to killing Heather Trott, although his father learned this week that he had been released.
The character has appeared on and off in EastEnders since 1996. He was most recently played by Joshua Pascoe.
