Dr Alex has slated Love Island and yeah, he’s pretty much right

Jade Hayden

Not wrong, in fairness to him.

Dr Alex may not have won Love Island, but he certainly won the hearts of the nation.

With his severe red sunburn, his inability to run while wheeling a buggy, and his intense, intense awkwardness, Alex was never going to settle down in the villa, but he sure look, he did his best.

After his stint on the ITV reality show, he decided the influencer lifestyle wasn’t quite for him and he went back to do what he does best – saving people’s lives in A&E… while posting memes about himself on Instagram.

Killing it, clearly.

However, despite all the friends (and money) Alex made off of his time on the island, he doesn’t exactly have the greatest things to say about the show – or reality TV in general.

And yeah, he’s absolutely correct.

Speaking to the Metro, he said that reality shows take advantage of their contestants and could even potentially be exploiting their weaknesses.

Speaking about the fact that he sunburned a lot on the show, he said:

“I had factor 50 on the whole time – if you’re 10 hours in the sun in 44 degree heat, someone with pale skin like me will suffer, so I do relate to John and it’s not easy.

“When you’re on the show, forget the skin issue, you’re exposed on any kind of issue. Any sign of weakness which is show will be exploited by the viewers on the outside and it’s not easy sometimes.

“And you don’t have a voice to respond at all, I only became aware of it when I left the island.”

V true, man. V true.

Alex has since been spending a lot of time wearing scrubs and doing general doctor-themed things.
