Casualty actor Tristan Gemmil is to join the Coronation Street cast as Tracy’s ex-husband, Robert Preston.
He’s set to ruffle the feathers of more than a few characters, including Tracy, when he arrives to pay his respects at Deirdre Barlow’s funeral.
Robert does his best to win Tracy over but leaves out one very important detail…he’s still married.

Things get even more complicated when his wife played by former Girls Aloud star, Sarah Harding, turns up to join her husband.
In the meantime, he lands himself a job at the Bistro but a fight over “dodgy goods” mean he’s in hot water with Luke, Fiz and Tyrone before long.
By the sounds of i sparks will fly with Robert’s arrival and as he has signed a year-long contract for the soap, he’s sure to be included in some big storylines.
