The heart-breaking storyline is set to air from Monday, 13th July.
As fans of Coronation Street will know, Paula Lane, who plays Kylie Platt, is due to take her leave of the show and details regarding her exit were revealed at the weekend.
Although originally, it was rumoured that the door might be left open for her character to return, Kylie will now be killed off in a surprising twist.
Interestingly, when discussing her exit, Paula revealed that the plot involves something that’s never been done before in soapland.
Speaking to The Mirror, Paula said:
“I’m not just saying this because I’m involved, but I don’t think I’ve ever read an ending like it.
“It’s almost not Corrie, if you know what I mean, it’s very different.”
“It’s something that’s never been done in soap before and I think the audience are going to get a real sense of shock and surprise”.
Of course, viewers are going crazy speculating over what might be about to happen and after Paula’s recent comments, I imagine the ratings for next week’s Corrie will be through the roof.
“You don’t get to have that kind of exit every day and people will really remember it so I am chuffed to pieces.
“I want it to be that I leave the audience wanting more”.
People have been speculating about what could happen to Kylie and unsurprisingly, many think that her on-screen death might be linked to the Calum Scott murder plot.
As Coronation Street fans are aware, Kylie killed Calum to protect her sister-in-law, Sarah Platt.
Here’s what fans have been saying about Kylie’s untimely demise.
I keep seeing about Kylie’s death & I’m scared yet excited. Gonna miss Paula Lane though, love her! #Corrie #Kyliesdeath
