In a huge plot twist, Coronation Street’s Kylie Platt is to be killed off.
As fans of the show might be aware, Paula Lane, who plays Kylie, is pregnant and was due to take her leave of the show imminently.
However, rather than leave the door open for her characters to return down the line, producers have opted for a major plot twist.
According to ITV, details of what happens to Kylie have been kept under wraps so that viewers can watch the dramatic events unfold onscreen.
It is likely that her exit will be linked to Callum Scott’s murder, which has been a huge storyline for the soap in recent months.
Now that Tony Stewart is suspected of killing Callum, Kylie is not prepared to let an innocent man go to jail for murder.

It’s believed that she comes up with a plan for the Platt family to leave Weatherfield but something happens before they can make their getaway.
Speaking about her departure, Paula said:
“It was very emotional to film the scenes knowing that I would never return and her death has huge consequences for David and all the family”.
No further details have been revealed as of yet but the below trailer is a sneak peek of what to expect.
Kylie’s last scenes will air on Friday 15th July but the week beginning Monday 11th July will be full of surprises on the soap.
