Coronation Street’s Paula Lane is hoping for a dramatic exit following her pregnancy news.
The actress, who plays Kylie Platt in the soap, revealed earlier this month that she is expecting her first child which means she will be heading on maternity leave at the end of the year.
It also means that show bosses will have to come up with a temporary exit storyline for the star who broke the news to producer Stuart Blackburn a few weeks ago.
Speaking to The Sun about the meeting, Paula revealed: “It had to sink in, but then I saw this light bulb go off in his head. I hope it’s only going to improve what they already had in mind for Kylie and give them scope to do something quite dramatic”.
As for her character’s feisty temperament, that’s not going to change. “I think Kylie’s going to stay quite wild,” the 28-year-old explained. “Obviously any fighting would have to be adapted but her personality is not going to suddenly mellow”.
