Carly Hope, daughter of Bob, is set to arrive back in Emmerdale next week and her appearance will cause plenty of drama.
Although Carly is meant to be getting married, she is disappointed that her father isn’t attending and decides to travel to the village…in her wedding dress.
After Bob reveals his doubts about the wedding, Carly changes her mind and instead of getting married she decides to move to the village to be nearer her father.
Speaking about Carly’s imminent return, Emmerdale producer Kate Oates said: “I think she’s going to be popular with the boys! Carly is going to really stir things up for Bob. She’s really resentful of him because she feels that he wasn’t the best dad and he’s kind of ignored her.
“That’s the thing with Bob – everyone loves him, but you forget that he’s been married 25 million times and fathered so many children! He doesn’t actually have a lot of contact with all of his kids.
“You get that sense with Bob that he’s really devoted to the family he’s with at the moment, and that must really hurt when you’re one of the family members who is left behind”.
Gemma Atkinson, formerly of Hollyoaks and Casualty, has been cast in the role, she takes over from Rebecca Ryan who played Carly from 2001-2006.
