The accusations were made by three fellow comedians.

Comedy is a competitive business with thousands of standups vying for the attention of the media and talent bookers. Joke theft is sadly a common occurrence and now one of the world’s top acts has been accused of stealing material from lesser known acts.

The comedians accusing Schumer included Tammy Pescatelli, Wendy Liebman and Kathleen Madigan, all of whom tweeted about the alleged theft. However, Liebman has since backtracked, saying it may have been possible that the two had simply written similar material.

A video has surfaced online, entitled Amy Schumer Is A Joke Thief, showing the uncanny similarities between her work and the standup of others.

Schumer has flat out denied the theft, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, she is willing to take a polygraph test to prove she didn’t steal the material.

Some of the claims within the video seem pretty baseless, while others might raise an eyebrow. It may just be a case of great minds thinking alike.
