There have been rumours swirling about a number of characters returning to Coronation Street but one person who is definitely up for a comeback is Angela Griffin.
The actress, who played hairdresser Fiona Middleton in the 90s, would love to reprise her role and even has an idea for a storyline involving her former onscreen love Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson).
She told Closer magazine: “Yeah I think all Steve McDonald’s women should come back one by one. I think Fiona would have had a baby by him so I’d come back with this 18-year-old child he’d never met.”
Angela, who has recently landed a role in hit crime drama Lewis, also spoke of her frustration at being out of work.
She explained: “I was out of work for a year… I really knocked my confidence. It was hard though I did get to spend loads of time with the kids (Tallulah and Melissa).
“Eventually, I made my West End debut in One Man, Two Guvnors and then Lewis came along and now my career’s where I want it.”
