Amy James-Kelly has quit her role on Coronation Street according to reports this morning.
The 19-year-old actress, who has played Maddie Heath on the show since December 2013, will apparently leave this summer after making the decision last year.

Amy has been on the show for a year and a half.
She told The Sun newspaper: “I’m young and adventurous and I want to gain more experience and explore and improve my craft. Acting is my passion and I’m excited to see where it takes me.”
It is not yet known what her exit storyline will be or whether it will involve girlfriend Sophie Webster (Brooke Vincent) but rumour has it the door will be left open for a possible return.
Speaking previously about Amy, Executive Producer Stuart Blackburn revealed: “(She) has no idea how good she is. The character of Maddie will be here as long as I’m here.”
