Uh oh.
It looks like Riverdale‘s big romances may be facing an obstacle this season – sorry Bughead and Varchie fans.
Riley Keogh is set to join the popular series for season three – months after she tweeted about wanting to be cast on the show.
According to Vulture, she will play Laurie Lake, an “all-American farm girl” who may end up turning Archie and Jughead’s heads.
The Riverdale pals end up wandering onto her property in need of shelter, but while things start off “warm and possibly flirtatious” it soon turns into “more danger than they could have imagined.”
It is Riverdale, after all – would you expect anything less than total mayhem?
The latest trailer revealed that there’s plenty of drama in store for Riverdale residents when the series returns.
First of all, it looks like it’s picking up where it left off with Archie being transported to prison after being set up by Veronica’s father, Hiram Lodge.
It also looks like Archie gets a Serpent tattoo in jail, and is also beat up by the guards.

In another scene, it looks as if Jughead’s dad, F.P. Jones, and Betty’s mum, Alice Cooper, are sleeping together (and they look particularly happy about it – tbh, we’re kinda ‘shipping them since they were high school sweethearts).
However, we’re sure their parents little love affair will come in between Jughead and Betty.
There also seems to be a new group coming into the show – referred to as The Farm. Apparently, they’re a cult-like gang, but then again, who isn’t like a cult in this show?
The CW series returns for season three on October 10, with it arriving on Netflix in Ireland on October 12.
