They’re dropping off like FLIES.

In the land of soaps, people come and go as if there’s a revolving door onset.

People either leave for years and return in the blink of an eyeelope with someone who’s not their partner or die off at the drop of a hat, so if you’re going to watch soaps you need to keep your eyes wide open and your concentration levels high.

On Coronation Street, fans will know that David Platt’s wife Kylie tragically died last week but even though the family have not grieved for their loss, it looks like there’s only going to be more suffering on the way.

Before Kylie died, she spent a day doing good deeds around the street and one relationship she managed to reconcile was that of her mother-in-law Gail Platt and husband Michael Rodwell.

It doesn’t look like their refound marital bliss will last very long however as actor Les Dennis has confirmed he will be leaving the show.

According to Digital SpyLes Dennis will be leaving the cobbles later this year after playing the character of Michael since 2014.

The 62-year-old actor told of how he was sad to be leaving but also looking forward to the future

“Becoming part of the ITVCoronation Street family has been a wonderful experience and my decision to leave was a hard one.

“I always knew that the time would come when I would want the freedom to do more projects, and now feels like the right time, the talented team of writers and producers have come up with a very dramatic exit for Michael on the show, which will be exciting to film.”

People took to Twitter to express their sadness at Michael leaving the soap.

It hasn’t been confirmed as of yet how Michael will leave Manchester’s most famous street but I for one am sad to see him go.
