12 Ways ‘My Girl’ Would Be Different Had It Been Set in Ireland

Introducing My Cailín...

Rebecca McKnight

Ever wondered what My Girl would be like had it been set in Ireland? We have! Introducing My Cailín

1. We would have still said this… just not to anyone’s face.

2. We were NOT this fashionable at her age.

3. We’re a traditional bunch so he would have had to make the first move. (Also, our first kiss was in a far less romantic setting.)

4. If this happened, it would have been straight to mam.

5. We only learned how to ‘give evils’ in our teenage years.

6. Tree climbing wasn’t our favourite past-time. Eating ice-cream was.

7. We sang to our mirrors. We never asked them silly questions.

8. How good is her balance? We definitely would have fallen.

9. Usually we’re the ones being told to be quiet.

10. Never this warm.

11. We wouldn’t have gotten over him…

… or replaced him with this guy.

12. Her cry face is far less red and wrinkly than ours.

Honourable mentions…

Never a truer word was spoken.

We feel her pain.

Can’t cope.
