News broke yesterday that Navan man Hector Ó hEochagáin is taking a break from radio. Our favourite strawberry blonde decided to part ways with his 2FM breakfast slot to pursue a number of television projects and today rumours are rife that two fairly familiar faces are tipped to take his role.
Republic of Telly duo Bernard O’Shea & Jennifer Maguire are said to be in the running for the slot, gracing our airwaves every weekday morning.
Hector, who joined the station back in October 2010, revealed yesterday that he will step down this Friday.
Others in the running to take over are Phantom FM’s Keith Walsh and the always-reliable stand-in presenter Louise Walsh.
We’re sad to see Hector leave but we know he’ll ‘Keep her lit’ no matter what he is at, and we always have the ‘Hector Goes…’ television series to look forward to.
KHL Hector, KHL.
