Will.I.Am has made history and his latest track ‘Reach for the Stars’ was the first song to be played on Mars although we doubt there were any Martains there to hear it.
The track was played on NASA’s Curiosity Rover, which is currently on a fact-finding mission on Mars.
NASA reportedly approached the Black Eyed Peas rapper because of his “passion for science, technology and space exploration”.
NASA tweeted: “Will.i.am: The point of the song is to remind people that anything is possible if you discipline yourself.”

Meanwhile, The Voice UK judge spent the evening tweeting up a storm.
“Rocking with NASA with the rock star @tweetsoutloud,” he wrote before posting a picture with his NASA friends.

‘Greetings Martians’, says Will.i.am
The song’s lyrics naturally are about reaching for the stars and to never give up when life hands you a bad hand.
“Why do they say the sky is the limit, when I see them footprints on the moon?
“I know the sky may be high, but baby it ain’t really that high/ And I know that Mars might be far, but baby it ain’t really that far.”
