Thomas Markle has reacted to the royal wedding from his hospital bed.
Meghan’s father, who could not attend the wedding due to health problems, has said that he wished he could have gone.
He also said: “My baby looks beautiful.”
Markle told TMZ today:
“My baby looks beautiful and she looks very happy.
“I wish I were there and I wish them all my love and all happiness.”
Lovely.
Thomas was originally supposed to walk Meghan down the aisle, however he had to have heart surgery in the US following a recent heart attack.
The 73-year-old also recently said that he didn’t want to attend the wedding because he would “embarrass” his daughter.
He later agreed to attend only to reveal that he was scheduled to have surgery.
He is still in hospital.
Meghan and Harry married this afternoon in St Geroge’s Chapel.
Meghan walked halfway down the aisle alone and was then met by Prince Charles who walked her the rest of the way.
Meghan’s mother, Doria, did attend the ceremony.
Also in attendance today were David and Victoria Beckham, Oprah, Idris Elba, Reverend Michael Curry, and James Blunt.
